One interesting season

Hey Everyone, (all two of you)

So I know I am terrible at writing on this thing. So forgive me for not being more consistent. But I am writing now because of some big sports news. Well at least for the Angels baseball organization. But we will get to that in a minute. Let me quickly cover the other sports.

So basketball finally is off strike. They just recently did there trades, ya da ya da ya da. As you can tell I just really dont care what happens in the basketball world. Hockey is in full swing and playoffs are just around the corner but sadly I don't think that the Anaheim ducks will be making it to the playoffs. This season just wasn't their best. But I will still continue to watch their games and cheer them on. And just really quickly I will touch on football. That is coming to a close of regular season and we are ready for some playoffs! But sadly for me it doesn't look like the Chargers or the Dolphins will make it into the playoffs but football is still fun and I will always find someone to root for in the end. I will be watching the playoffs of both football and hockey and I will have a favorite choice of who I want to win it all since my preferred teams wont make it.

Okay now onto the big baseball news! Drum roll please................. Albert Pujols, C.J. Wilson and Dan Haren have all be signed to the Angels for the new 2012 season. This is going to make for one interesting season to have these ace players playing for us. The Angels might actually succeed this year. I am so excited for baseball season as always to start back up. I am now even more excited to see that the Angels are actually trying to acquire good players to actually win for once. Lets just hope that we don't lose players to injury. *knock on wood*. Anyways the Angels are rounding out the team for what looks like a good 2012 season. We will see what happens in March with Spring Training. I think I might actually try and go this year. We will see what I can swing. Anyways I know this post was short and there wasnt much information to it but thats just who the baseball rolls. Til next time, have fun watching sports and cheering on your favorite teams.

Fumble Ruskie!

So when it comes to blogging, I am very bad at it as you can tell. So here is my latest update on my view of sports. So Baseball season is almost over. The world series is down to the wire. The last game is being played as I type. It between Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals. I personally would be okay with either team winning as they both are great this season in their own rights and they both have claimed past Angel players as their own. Although because Texas has Mike Napoli right now I think that is why I would say I would want them to win. Plus they are an American league team. We will see how it all unfolds tonight.

Football is back and it is another great sport to watch. As always I am rooting for the Miami Dolphins, because its my dads favorite team, and the San Diego Chargers, because they are the local team. It is to early to say who will make it to the play offs as we are only in week 8, although that is half way through the regular season.. But I want to wish both of these teams the best although San Diego is doing better currently, by a lot as Miami is 0-6. College football I havent seen much of this year so far but I am a USC fan because I bleed red not blue. Who knew that statement could hold true for more then one sport, although USC's color is technically maroon. Anyways USC is finally doing better as this last week they made it into the AP poll. Good for them. They are standing at 6-1 which is great now lets just see how high they can climb in the rankings. Oh and I love to root for BYU and I am hoping that they will do well. This is about the only team that I will bleed blue for.

So the other wonderful sport that is back in action is... HOCKEY!!!!! I am so excited beyond belief. I love when hockey season is going on. It is so fun to watch even on T.V. So being the California girl that I am, I am a HUGE fan of the Anaheim Ducks. I love to watch them play and root for them to win. So far the ducks are doing well, in fact they won tonight's game against the Wild 3-2! Go Ducks! They are standing 6-4 right now. I am hoping for a playoff breech this year and that maybe we can even play for the cup. Wouldn't that be sweet?

The only other sport that should be going on right now but isn't is basketball. I could care less about basketball. Personally I am so happy that they are on strike right now and I don't have to hear about it or how "great" they Lakers are. I would be okay if basketball never resumed play ever again. But who knows, if that were to happen then there would be to many people complaining.

So I am beginning to realize why no one actually reads my blog. A, I dont write in it very often and B, it isn't very interesting as I dont talk about anything to interesting or important. Oh well when I do write I have fun and I guess that is all that matters, right? Anyways I think I am done talking about sports tonight folks. So until next time, have fun watching sports and cheering on your favorite teams.

Full Swing!

Baseball Season is BACK!!!! I am so happy to have this fantastic sport back in season and boy are we in full swing. Week one down, so many more to go! So my team, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, are .500 going into opening day at their stadium tomorrow. It not the best start that they can have, the Texas Rangers  have that at 6-0, but its just the beginning and there is still so much more baseball to be played before the world series. But whats funny is that the team that was the preseason pick to take it all, the Boston Red Sox, are currently 0-6, which for me is histarically funny and I am loving every second of this season so far.  I can already tell that this is going to be a great season. Im very excited!

Quick recap, my pick for the March Madness Tournement did not win, infact they got out of the tournement in the Sweet 16 round but thats okay. It just wasnt their year to win it. The team that did win it though was the University of Conneticut. So Congratulations to them. On the girls side, Texas A&M won the championship. Like I said I didnt really follow the tournement or basketball in general but congrats to both teams, you beat out some great teams for the title. You deserve it. Playoffs for hockey still haven't started yet but as of right now the Anaheim Ducks still have a shot to make it into the playoffs which would make them much more enjoyable. So thats just my quick update on what this girl thinks. Till next time everyone, have fun watching sports and cheering on your favorite teams.

March Madenss!!

Hello everyone again! So to continue where I left off last month, The GREEN BAY PACKERS WON!!! The Super Bowl XLV Champs have been crowned. And what a game it was. For a while there it almost looked like the Steelers were going to win it but in the end the Cheese Heads took the title! I personally didn't like the half time show. It wasn't the greatest performance for the Black Eyed Peas but they were okay and worth watching just once. Oh did you see that performance by Christina Aguilera? How hard is it to get the words right to the NATIONAL ANTHEM?!? Whats most comical about her flub was A it was on national T.V. and then B most likely the words were on some screen some where in the stadium. So i mean really? Come on Christina get it right. Weren't we all taught this song in elementary school? But at least the crowd was nice and didn't boo her off the field... or was that because they just didn't know the song either and therefore didn't catch the flub? But Congrats to the Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Did anyone see the Disneyland commercial? That and the other commercial are one of my favorite parts about the Super Bowl.

Onto what is currently happening. March Madness is in full swing and we are already in the Sweet 16 round with those games begin played. It sad that boys basketball is talked about more, but isn't that how its always been even in the professionals? So I personally am rooting for BYU to take it all in the boys basketball but like i said in the previous post I am not a big follower of basketball so I get all my info from either friends or the news. But that's okay, right? I think it would be really cool if they went up against San Diego St. in the finals just cause that's the closet team to where I live and so it would get everyone in a up roar I believe which would be way cool. I did here though that the BYU v Gonzaga game was one I should have watched as it was very intense and exhilarating. As far as the girls side goes I really don't have a personal team I would root for but I think I'm gonna say that I would like to see Standford and Norte Dame in the finals. I'm not sure why but that's my prediction and I'm sticking to it. Odds off me being right are slim to non, especially since I'm not following either tournament as I should be.

Did you hear that Barry Bonds is finally getting charged for the use of steroids and going to trial over it. I personally think this is fair cause he knew the rules going in and should have followed them so when he broke them he deserved to get caught and in trouble. To me its no different then BYU's star basketball player getting in trouble with the moral code and getting kicked out of school over it. He knew what he was signing when he wanted to go to that school and should have followed it full well knowing the consequences if he didn't.Or the Norte Dame wide receiver who got suspended for his DUI. They know the rules, now just follow them. How hard can it be? It should be that way with any sport cause the players know the rules and they should be followed to keep the game fair and equal. But that's just this girls opinion.  Hockey is almost into playoffs just a few more weeks, which is probably when i will post again. Baseball season starts at the end of next week! Im so excited! Maybe that will be my next post. Which ever one is first. Till then everyone, have fun watching sports and cheering on your favorite teams.

Super Bowl XLV

Hey Everyone!
Welcome to my blog where you get a little glimpse into what a girl like me thinks about sports.

So this weekend is Super Bowl XLV. It is between Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. I am not a big fan of either team but if I had to choose who I would hope wins, I would go with the Packers. Personally I have never been able to choose a professional team for football to follow so I have just always gone with who my dad follows. I like watching football and sports in general just cause its a time for my dad and I to bond and it gives me something to talk about with my guy friends. This weekend is going to be an interesting one to see who wins but I prefer the underdogs and the ones who don't go very often to the Super Bowl. I find it interesting the Dallas didn't fight harder to be in the Super Bowl since their town was hosting it but I recently found out that only one team in history has ever had home field advantage in the Super Bowl. Do you know who it is? But I occasionally make things for my dad to take to work and in support of the Super Bowl, I made a cake for him to take to work (see picture below).  I may not like the teams in the Super Bowl but I like to bake and this gave me a reason to make a cake, and a reason to start my blog.

In other sports stuff, I absolutely love Baseball and always have. I think thats when this blog will really take off for me is when its Baseball season. Especially if my team the Anaheim Angels (I hate that they are called LA) does well we will have things to talk about, although because of all the off season trades I am considering adding a new team to the list of favorites. But still I can't wait for opening day of baseball season and for life to be good again. Hockey is another favorite sport of mine and the Anaheim ducks are in second place in their division with a chance to go to the playoffs!! The play tomorrow against the Sharks and hopefully they can win and up their standings just a little. So I know this may sound horrible but I tolerate Basketball and because of where I live I choose the LA Lakers as my team (if I have to choose). The Lakers as always are doing well in there division and are currently in first place, although they have lost their last two games which if this streak continues could end up hurting them. In other related Basketball news, March Madness is just over a month away now and since football is over for college I guess I'll mention the NCAA through Basketball.... I am gonna have to say that I most likely will not be paying very much attention to it but I hope that the California teams do well and go far in the tournament. Okay so thats all I can think of to talk about in my first blog here. I don't want to have nothing to talk about next time. Anyways, till then have fun watching sports and cheering on your favorite teams.
